Introduction to choice theory Design is the method of adhering to a strategic path based on numerous choices. During the consideration of these choices a certain influence towards the acquisition of an artifact is created, therefore influencing other people's life & the greater world around us. By utilizing "The philosophy of composition" by Edgar Allan Poe as reference, we can synthesize a path towards choice theory by dividing the design puzzle into several smaller obstacles, which can be resolved through "binary" methods.

Pin-choice is a device that automates the 'choosing' process.
This device consist of two facets:

These 'forks', located at the top of the device, force the ball towards a particular direction, thus exposing them through a range of sub-problems at the initial 'primary thought' stage.
On the opposite end of the device, numerous 'concluding' objectives are located representing the possible final 'outcomes' after a particular path has been chosen.
By subjecting these primary ideas (balls) through these 'forks' they are transformed from an objective into a problem, a transformation created through an 'automation' process completely outside of the designer's control & responsibility.
Through this 'automation' approach towards the decisions process, the designer loses 'decisive' control towards a final outcome, therefore the 'artifacts' he or she is responsible for no longer became objects but rather obstacles which he or she will need to create new 'clearer' design solutions for.
